Lokkhi Terra will be performing at the Regency on February 12 from 9pm till 11pm.
This is a launch of the album \'No Visa Required\' by Lokkhi Terra. Lokkhi Terra’s music juxtaposes traditions from around the world, using one form as an inspirational bouncing board for another until something entirely new emerges. Rumba and Clave meet the Tal, Afro-funk meets the Indian raaga, urban images meet the soulful lyrics of Bengal.
In the album No Visa Required, Sohini has sung traditional Bengali folk songs in concert with many other instruments from different parts of the world. This enchanting fusion is the brainchild of UK/Bangladeshi musician Kishon Khan. Kishon is the founder and director of the Cuban funk outfit MOTIMBA as well as Lokhki Terra, and has composed music for the feature film The Last Thakur.
The following musicians are on their way to Dhaka for the launch:
Kishon Khan (MD/piano), Justin Thurgur (trombone), Oreste Noda (congas), Jimmy Martinez (bass), Graeme Flowers (trumpet), Phil Dawson (guitar), Javier Camillo (vocals, bongos), Sohini Alam (vocals), Labik Kamal Gourob (vocals), Shumel (vocals), Aanon Siddiqua (vocals), Tansay Omar (drums), Nilesh (tabla), Haider Rahman (bansuri flute).
Tickets: Taka 2500 (includes cocktail appetizers)
Tickets will be available for collection at the Bengal Music office and at Le Saigon from 6th Feb.
